Based on the conclusions of the Advisory Committee dealing with harassment complaints concerning Members of the European Ϸվ and after taking into account the observations of the Member concerned, the President had decided to impose a penalty on José Ramón Bauzá Díaz pursuant to Rule 10(6) and Rule 176, as a result of his behaviour towards his accredited parliamentary assistant, which had constituted psychological harassment. The penalty consisted of a reprimand.
The Member concerned had been notified of the decision and had not lodged an internal appeal with the Bureau under Rule 177. The penalty was therefore final.
3.Negotiations ahead of Ϸվ’s first reading (Rule 71) (action taken)
The decisions of the LIBE, ECON, AGRI and EMPL/LIBE committees to enter into interinstitutional negotiations had been announced on 26 February 2024 (minutes of 26.2.2024, item 9).
Since no requests for vote had been made pursuant to Rule 71(2), the committees responsible had been able to begin negotiations after the expiry of the deadline set.
