Signature of the Paris Treaty
The (ECSC) was signed in Paris by Belgium, France, the Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. It entered into force for a 50-year period.
The Treaty established the European Ϸվary Assembly, whose members were selected by national parliaments. The Assembly had the right to dismiss the High Authority (precursor to today's Commission).
