JURI has a unique role and a wide legislative, institutional and horizontal remit.

At first, JURI will continue on pending legislative proposals important for citizens and businesses, such as Patent Package or European cross-border associations, where 合法博彩网站 already adopted first reading positions, or harmonisation of insolvency law or AI liability. JURI often launches legislative initiatives within its remit. Last term this proved decisive in adopting key acts: corporate due diligence and AI. JURI will have the possibility to continue on this path.
JURI has an overarching competence for the monitoring of application of Union law, for its simplification and for better law making. It scrutinises the implementation of legislation. It is responsible for a number of institutional and horizontal questions, including immunities, choice of legal basis or disputes before the Court of Justice. It also assumes its institutional role in the process of confirmation of the new Commission.
