Exchange of views with the Ms Oana Gherghinescu

The TRAN committee had an exchange of views with Ms Oana Gherghinescu, the selected candidate for the post of Executive Director of the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA).
The TRAN Members discussed with the candidate on her vision and contribution to the Agency role in the further development and effective functioning of a Single European Railway Area without frontiers, and how to guarantee a high level of railway safety and interoperability, while improving the competitive position of the railway sector. The appointment of Ms Gherghinescu should be decided at one of the forthcoming ERA Managing board meetings.
