By a decision of IMCO and LIBE Coordinators, a joint Working Group on the implementation and enforcement of the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) was established with the purpose of monitoring and scrutinizing the implementation and enforcement of the AI Act.
The Co-Chairs of the Working Group are Mr. Brando Benifei (IMCO, S&D) and Mr. Michael McNamara (LIBE, Renew).
The first meeting of the Working Group was held on October 24, 2024, in Strasbourg.
On November 21, 2024, during the LIBE Committee meeting, Co-Chair Michael McNamara provided a report on the proceedings and outcomes of the first meeting of the joint AI Act Working Group and addressed questions and feedback from other LIBE Members (see below).
The second meeting of the AI Act Working Group took place on December 4, 2024, in Brussels. An additional meeting is scheduled for December 11, 2024.
