The final draft agenda for the part-session of April 2025 (PE 771.772/PDOJ) had been made available to Members in accordance with Rule 163(3).

Proposals for amendments to the final draft agenda pursuant to Rule 164(1)

Monday

The sitting was extended until 23:00.

Wednesday

The Council and Commission statements on the ‘European oceans pact’ (item 44 on the final draft agenda) were moved to the second item on the afternoon’s agenda, after the topical debate.

A Commission statement on the ‘Threat to freedom of expression in Algeria: the five-year prison sentence of French writer Boualem Sansal’ with one round of political group speakers was added as the seventh item on the afternoon’s agenda, before the debates on cases of breaches of human rights, democracy and the rule of law (Rule 150).

The sitting was therefore extended until 23:00.

Ϸվ agreed to the proposals.

Tuesday

Request from the Verts/ALE Group to add a Commission statement on ‘Recent judgment by a French court on large-scale misuse of EU funds by former MEPs’ as the fourth point in the afternoon.

Request from the PfE group to add such a declaration with the title ‘Attacks on democracy and the will of the people in Europe’.

The sitting would therefore be extended until 23:00.

The following spoke: Daniel Freund, on behalf of the Verts/ALE Group, who moved the request from his group, and Tomas Tobé, who was against it.

The President noted that there was no agreement and put the requests to the vote.

Request from The Left Group to add a Commission statement on the ‘EU’s response and preparedness for Trump’s tariffs on the European automotive industry’ be added in the afternoon after Council and Commission statements on ‘Recent legislative changes in Hungary and their impact on fundamental rights (item 53 on the final draft agenda). PDOJ).

The following spoke: Martin Schirdewan, on behalf of The Left Group, who moved the request, and Jörgen Warborn, who was against it.
