CHAPTER 6:POINTS OF ORDER AND PROCEDURAL MOTIONS

Rule 203:Procedural motions

1.Requests to move a procedural motion, namely:

(a)referral back to committee (Rule 204);

(b)the closure of a debate (Rule 205);

(c)the adjournment of a debate or vote (Rule 206); or

(d)the suspension or closure of the sitting (Rule 207)

shall take precedence over other requests to speak.

In addition to the mover, only the following Members shall be heard on these motions: one speaker against and the Chair or rapporteur of the committee responsible.

2.The speaking time shall not exceed one minute.
