In a debate on Tuesday with the EU foreign policy chief, MEPs are expected to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and continuation of the release of Israeli hostages by Hamas.
Israel recently resumed its military campaign in Gaza after nearly two months of ceasefire, with the Israeli government blaming the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas for rejecting a new US proposal to extend the truce. Hamas, in turn, has accused Israel of abandoning the original deal agreed in January.
