MEPs and guest speakers to discuss procedures for evictions and squatting
In a hearing on Tuesday, MEPs will discuss eviction and squatting procedures with experts and representatives from the Commission and the EESC.

The hearing will address concerns raised by petitioners from Spain over the suspension of procedures for evictions and squatting. It will also explore the potential for an EU-wide approach to safeguarding property rights and streamlining legal processes for property recovery.
The session will begin with a comparison of eviction and squatting procedures across the EU, followed by a legal assessment of the right to property. The discussion will then move on to the state of social housing in Europe, including an overview of the European Commission’s .
Moderated by Ϸվ’s Petitions Committee Chair Bogdan Rzońca (ECR, Poland), the hearing will feature contributions from:
