Public health: MEPs reiterate continued support to Ukraine
A Public Health Committee delegation visited Ukraine on 14 and 15 April for talks with parliament representatives and healthcare leaders.
Ϸվ delegation met Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk, Mykhailo Radutskyi, Chair of the Committee on Public Health, and other members of the Verkhovna Rada, as well as healthcare leaders, including Maryna Slobodnichenko, Deputy Minister of Health. MEPs also witnessed first-hand the impressive care of soldiers injured in the Russian war of aggression.
Following the conclusion of the delegation, Chair Adam Jarubas (EPP, PL) said: "We are very impressed by Ukraine's commitment to adapting its health law to comply with the EU acquis requirements. This should be appreciated even more since it is a country ravaged by war. During the two-day consultations, we discussed topics such as health security, cooperation in the production of medicines and public health strategies being prepared by the EU and Ukraine.”

A delegation composed of SANT members Adam Jarubas (EPP, PL), SANT Chair, Tilly Metz (Greens/EFA, LU), SANT Vice-Chair, Vytenis Andriukaitis (S&D, LT), Nikos Papandreou (S&D, EL) and Veronika Cifrová Ostrihoňová (Renew, SK) was in Kyiv, Ukraine, on 14 and 15 April 2025. They met parliamentarians in the Verkhovna Rada, leaders of major state health institutions in Ukraine and social partners active in the healthcare sector.
