On 8 April 2025, the LIBE Committee held a key exchange with representatives from the World Shipping Council and the European Sea Ports Organisation to discuss the European Ports Alliance and its Public-Private Partnership鈥攁 central initiative in the EU鈥檚 fight against drug trafficking and organised crime.

This discussion builds on the European Commission's Communication of 18 October 2023 on the EU Roadmap to fight drug trafficking and organised crime, where the European Ports Alliance was introduced as a flagship initiative.
