On the other hand, gender balance in politics benefits not only women and female politicians but also political parties themselves and the rest of society. Women form ...

Such proposals have been discussed over the years in the European Ϸվ itself, as well as ...

The impact of this change extended to areas as diverse as the organisation of parliamentary business, the workings of parliamentary committees and intergroups, increased budgetary powers, the socio-professional profile ...

Euroopan parlamentin historiallista taustaa
Euroopan parlamentti sai alkunsa, kun Euroopan hiili- ja teräsyhteisön (EHTY) yleiskokouksesta tuli kaikkien kolmen silloisen Euroopan ylikansallisen yhteisön yhteinen yleiskokous, joka sai myöhemmin nimen Euroopan parlamentti. Tämä toimielin, jonka jäsenet on vuodesta 1979 lähtien valittu välittömillä vaaleilla, on ajan mittaan muuttunut perusteellisesti: nimitettyjen jäsenten edustajakokouksesta on kehittynyt vaaleilla valittu parlamentti, jonka rooli Euroopan unionissa käsittelyyn otettavien aiheiden ...
