Secretly filmed in Iran, "Nasrin" is a film by the Emmy-nominated producer, director and writer Jeff Kaufman and Emmy-nominated producer Marcia S. Ross. It is narrated by Oscar winner Olivia Colman.
The documentary tells the story of Nasrin Sotoudeh, the 2012 Sakharov Prize laureate. This Iranian lawyer and human rights defender has devoted her life to the cause of justice, supporting those who protested against the fraudulent elections in Iran in 2009. In March 2019 she was sentenced to 33 years in prison and 148 lashes.
