MEPs call on European leaders meeting on 14-15 December to open accession talks with Ukraine as well as with Moldova
Ϸվ and Rada sign renewed memorandum of understanding
Ϸվ President Roberta Metsola and Ruslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, signed a renewed memorandum of understanding setting out how they can improve cooperation. This includes the European Ϸվ setting up a permanent representation in Kyiv and helping Ukraine with the challenges of rebuilding and getting ready to join the EU. Political group leaders also met Stefanchuk and renewed their commitment to support Ukraine and strengthen existing cooperation.
The European Commission proposes new sanctions to add more products to the transit ban but also to make it more difficult to circumvent sanctions.

First inter-committee meeting between the European Ϸվ and the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada
The committee chairs of the European Ϸվ and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine meet for the first inter-committee meeting to discuss the path ahead for Ukraine with regard to the country’s EU accession process, as well as to show solidarity with Kyiv.
European Ϸվ President Roberta Metsola visits Ukraine for the second time within a year and holds talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ϸվ Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk and Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin. She attends the United for Justice conference in Lviv, which discusses ways to hold perpetrators of atrocities against Ukrainians to account.

Provide Ukraine with military aid for as long as necessary, MEPs say
MEPs call for serious consideration to be given to delivering fighter jets, helicopters, appropriate missile systems and a substantial increase in munitions to Ukraine.
As part of a 10th sanctions package, the EU proposes further export bans worth more than €11 billion, to deprive the Russian economy of critical technology and industrial goods. For maximum impact, the bans target many industrial goods that Russia needs, such as electronics, specialised vehicles, machine parts, spare parts for trucks and jet engines. They also include goods for the construction sector which can be directed to Russia's military, such as antennas or cranes.

Latvian President to MEPs: Europe must be on the right side of history
Latvian President Egils Levits calls on Europe to find the political will to try Russia for its crimes and give Ukraine a future in Europe.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addresses the European Ϸվ during an extraordinary plenary session in Brussels. "This total war now that is being waged by Russia - it is not only for territory[...] After Ukraine's European way of life, they want to destroy the European way of life as such," he told MEPs. After this, he addresses EU leaders at a Council summit.
EU agrees on level of price caps for Russian petroleum products
The Council decides to set two price caps for petroleum products falling under CN code 2710 which originate in or are exported from Russia.

MEPs call for a firmer response to Russian threats to European security
The EU and its member states need to increase their military, political and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and strengthen their defence in countering Russian threats to European security, MEPs say in their annual Common Foreign and Security Policy report.
